That's totally messed up. I can't say anything about my country in general, but I know those parents especially don't deserve to adopt anymore and hope they won't. I couldn't believe it myself when I heard this on the news. I'm just glad they were caught and hopefully those children are or are going to be placed with better families.

Exactly. However, those who adopt children often live 2 lives, to the world they are angels in private feckin monsters. And the adoption services remain blissfully aware often until its too late.I shudder to think of the psycological damage inflicted on these children.

Feck! Katrina was a natural disaster that could not be averted, this could all have been prevented if psychological testing had been done on the prospective parents.Get a grip SG.

Yeah. Well, I've heard that at least with some adoption programs, they can go to check out the adopter's house. At first I wouldn't have liked the idea of that, being that I feel I would know how my house should be, knowing I'd have children staying there. but now it's people like that dumb couple who have made me realize why that's done. I wonder if they had a person over to their house before they were allowed to adopt? Probably not, or they were very good about keeping the cages hidden. I wonder if they could be made to get rid of the cages too, because they obviously had to have had all this figured out before they even adopted.

Yes, I believe seriously that people need to do more extensive background checking on people who are willing to adopt children. If I found out that one of the personal assistants on our registry was being that cruel to a consumer, I'd have their ass in one of those cages or whatever manifestation of cruelty, have it right back on them.

i don't think we'd have news like this if people didn't criate it in the first place.

Medolica, Tinkerbell and Rd I agree I just wonder how many other abusive adoptive parents we will hear about in the future, we must have affirmative action now, to stop this inhumane treatment of innocent children

I can't believe such cruelty has happened. I know it's all over, but it repulses me to think that someone could do that to children. I agree that they should spend some time in cages themselves.

hmm ordinarily I would agree Bashful but if you copy their behaviour, you are lowering yourself to their dispicable level...I hope some kind of charges are brought and the adoption agencies are investigated openly.

Oh my gosh that is horrible. How cold-hearted can one be? They should be kept in prison for ever. The people who did that I mean.

I agree but so far no action has been taken the police ect seem to assume, that its ok to cage autistic children as they can be violent? I think that demonstrates the intellectual level of the average Ohio policeman..

Oh yeah, perfectly okay!!! Somebody should talk to those deaf policemen and wake them up. I hate that.

Post 18 by Goblin (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Tuesday, 20-Sep-2005 11:22:59

Absolutely but as the children were otherwise well cared for, the police have deemed caging as an adequate way to restrain disturbed autistic children, feck knows, what the children have learned from this.

I have no idea Insele, the details of this case are very sketchy, I got the feeling that there might be a cover up.
